Coffee Culture and History

Coffee is relished all around the world and it's been part of Middle Eastern tradition for ages. Al Fahidi, Dubai's heritage district, welcomes the first ever committed coffee museum of the country. Dubai Coffee Museum is situated in a back street of the village. The entry through the museum gift store opens into the central courtyard home with a maze of miniature rooms and Majlis, including artifacts that are intriguing. The museum has its doors open to the general public.

The area showcases not only regional but also global coffee history. The museum's initial start started with a little couple of artifacts related to drinking and producing. With the growing interest in traffic, the bottom floor level of the museum is now divided into zones Traditions of different coffee drinking cultures. One entire subject of the courtyard is committed to Ethiopia. Visitors can observe the beans roasting using conventional Ethiopian technique. Egyptian barista is also one of the attractions. The coffee museum also contains an Emirati-style majlis. The courtyard has small exhibition rooms with artifacts and antiques.

Coffee Museum also has the literature room, which shows texts based on coffee. We get to see the antiques which are 300-year-old items which are distinctive, such as the clay coffee containers used by the Ethiopians called'jebena' and the Yemeni equivalent, called 'Jasmine'. These styles of pot signify the earliest beginning of coffee drinking (discovered in Ethiopia) and coffee roasting that is credited to the Yemeni.
