In what ways are violations taking place inside Dubai's metro stations? The following is a summary of offenses and fines associated with riding the metro. I have taken this information from the Road Transport Authority's (RTA's) leaflet regarding Metro Fines.

Dubai's RTA metro station: violations and fines

Fine-AED 100 violations at Dubai Metro

• Entering restricted areas within public transportation and public transit facilities and services in violation of warning signs and boards.
• If you are standing or seated in a non-passenger area of a Public Transport facility or Service.
• Putting the feet on the seats.
• Eating and drinking in areas in which these activities are prohibited.
• It is unlawful to bring animals into public transportation and public transportation facilities and services, except guide dogs for the blind.
• Misuse of elevators or escalators.
• Climbing or jumping to board public transport facilities and services.
• Accessing or leaving public transportation while it is moving between stations or stops by opening doors.
• Transporting or using materials or equipment in a manner that imposes an inconvenience on users of public transportation and public transportation facilities and services or puts their safety at risk

Fine -AED 200 violations at Dubai Metro

• Attempting to travel without a valid ticket.
• Possession of a travel card that belongs to another individual.
• A failure to follow the instructions of the RTA's inspectors or authorized personnel.
• The use of a Nol card that is expired or invalid.
• The sale of a Nol card without the permission of RTA.
• If you spit, litter, or cause any visible stains to any public transport vehicle or environment.
• You are prohibited from smoking inside any public transport vehicle or environment.
• In the case of a public transport vehicle or environment, the carrying of weapons, flammable articles or hazardous materials is prohibited.
• The carrying of alcoholic beverages inside public transport vehicles or environments is prohibited.
• Advertisement within any public transportation vehicle or environment in order to sell products, merchandise, or promote anything.
• The act of distracting the driver of a public transportation vehicle or committing any action that may cause visual obstructions while riding on a public transportation vehicle.

Fine -AED 250  violations at Dubai Metro

It is prohibited to park in a Metro user's parking space longer than 48 hours

Fine- AED 300  violations at Dubai Metro

Sleeping in passenger shelters or any place where sleeping is prohibited.

Fine - AED 2000 Violations at Dubai Metro

Damaging, vandalising or destroying equipment or seats on Public Transport and Public Transport Facilities and Services.

How to check dubai metro fines

Fines issued by Dubai's public transportation system/RTA/ metro fines will be issued in the form of an Emirates ID or a passport. Visit a Customer Happiness Center in Dubai to find out what the fines are.

How to Pay RTA Metro fines /violations in Dubai / how to pay rta bus fines online

If the customer wishes to pay fines on the spot, the inspector will provide a payment slip, or the customer can do so in the Happiness Centres located in Al Barsha, Al Manara, Al Kifaf, and Al Twar.
